How long will the brace be on for?
Normally 18 – 24 months, depending on how quickly or slowly your teeth move.
Can I have coloured braces?
Yes we have a selection of coloured elastics for you to choose from
Will wearing a brace hurt?
Putting the brace on is painless, but you may experience some discomfort for a few days afterwards, and for a short time after wires are changed – discomfort will wear off
How often do I need to come to have my brace adjusted?
You will need to attend regularly every 8 – 10 weeks
How is my brace removed?
Your brace is removed with a special plier that squeezes each bloc and the brace pops off the tooth
What happens after my brace is removed?
Your teeth will be polished and a special mould taken of your teeth. Retainers are made which will be fitted a few days later and will hold your teeth in their new position
What is a bonded retainer?
A bonded retainer is a wire placed on the inside of your teeth to hold them in their new position. This wire is left indefinitely unless it becomes troublesome
My brace is broken what do I do?
Call the surgery as soon as possible to have it repaired
